Trusted Connection

Definition
Roblox's 2026 chat system. After the mandatory age checks that rolled out in January 2026, users chat freely only with their 'Trusted Connections' — people they've mutually added. For accounts under 13, a parent has to approve each Trusted Connection before the child can privately chat or DM that person. Setup is done in person (via a QR scan) or through the verified flow, and the option only appears once the account has passed an age check.

“Mum, can you approve my friend as a Trusted Connection so we can chat?”
Note for Parents
This is the lever that matters most in 2026. For an under-13 account, YOU approve each Trusted Connection, which means you control exactly who your child can privately message.
