Italian Brainrot
ih-TAL-yun BRAYN-rot
Definition
A wave of AI-generated cartoon characters with absurd fake-Italian names and nonsense voiceovers — things like 'Tralalero Tralala' (a shark in sneakers) or 'Bombardiro Crocodilo'. They exploded across TikTok and YouTube in 2025 and are the entire theme of the game Steal a Brainrot. It's surreal, deliberately stupid humour that makes perfect sense to kids and none at all to adults.
Example Usage
“My little brother won't stop saying 'Tung Tung Tung Sahur' at the dinner table.”
Note for Parents
The meme itself is harmless silliness. The one caveat: some of the original AI-generated narrations contain swearing or oddly dark references hidden behind the cute characters, so the source clips aren't always as innocent as the name your child is repeating. Worth knowing, not worth panicking over.
