Definition
Since early 2026 Roblox asks many users to do a quick facial age check — a short selfie/video scan, analysed by a third-party vendor — to unlock chat and age-appropriate features. It estimates your age range from your face; it's age *estimation*, not full ID verification, and Roblox says the images are deleted afterwards.

Note for Parents
This is a genuine 2026 judgement call with no single right answer. Upside: it helps keep adult strangers out of younger kids' chat. Trade-off: it's a biometric scan of your child's face by an outside company, and age estimation isn't perfect. If you're not comfortable with it, the cost is reduced chat access — not losing the whole platform. Decide deliberately rather than clicking through.
